Readers will be pleased to hear that have-a-go heroine Anthea Turner's pal, Ivor Jacobs, who lost his Rolex in a smash and grab in London's West End last week, has had the valuable timepiece replaced.

Chubb, according to Jacobs, has dealt "sympathetically and efficiently" with him following his "traumatic experience" at the hands of his attacker and his £19,000 claim was paid promptly.

"I rang my broker to advise him of this harrowing experience and received a settlement four days later."

His broker, Sean Neal of CP Walker, was suitably modest saying he was happy to have been of assistance "albeit in some small way".

Ms Turner, the former National Lottery and GMTV presenter, reportedly put up a brave struggle with the criminals before eventually giving up.
