Aon has named Michael Rice chairman and Steve McGill chief executive of Aon Risk Services Americas.

Rice, a 40-year veteran of Aon and its predecessor Ryan Insurance Group, shifts from his dual role as chairman and chief executive of Aon Risk Services Americas to focus on the duties of chairman.

Aon chief executive Greg Case said: "In his role as chairman, he will support our overall operation, but will specially dedicate his attention to building Aon's Global affinity and automotive insurance services business units."

McGill will assume his role as chief executive in addition to his position as chief executive of Aon's Global Large Corporate business.

Case said that, since joining Aon, "Steve has made a significant and immediate impact in fast developing our Global Large Corporate business."

Prior to joining Aon, in May 2005, Steve served as chief executive of JLT.
