Arc Legal has secured a product and distribution deal with Amlin-owned marine insurance provider Haven Knox-Johnston.

The new scheme offering will provide cover for pleasure craft owners.

In addition to standard uninsured loss recovery, personal injury, contract and prosecution cover Arc Legal has introduced cover for an insured's costs of chartering another boat if their boat is damaged in a non-fault accident.

Arc Legal will also cover the costs of solicitors in the event of an insured’s personal or boat identity being stolen.

Haven Knox-Johnston, part of insurer Amlin, will distribute the product on a wholesale basis to its corporate partner clients as well as the broker market.

Arc Legal director Richard Finan said: “We have seen excellent growth in our marine and pleasure craft business since coming to market last year. This partnership with Haven Knox-Johnston takes us to the next level in terms of the cover, services and distribution options available.

“At a time of uncertainty about some providers in the market, we are able to offer brokers easier access to a best of breed product backed by specialist marine legal and claims expertise, so not just peace of mind but a new standard for market.”

John Macaulay, general manager for Haven Knox-Johnston said: “ Our distribution deal with Arc Legal provides them with distribution reach and further extends the range of products that we are able to offer our supporting brokers and clients.”
