Deputy chief executive Richard Pryce takes on responsibilities for property, casualty and motor underwriting in the interim

QBE’s property, casualty and motor chief underwriting officer Ash Bathia is leaving QBE after 15 years with the insurer.

Chief executive Steven Burns said: “I confirm that Ash Bathia, chief operating officer of the property, casualty and motor (PCM) division, is leaving QBE.

“Ash has ceased all executive responsibilities with immediate effect and will be on garden leave for his notice period.

“For the immediate future until a successor is appointed, the existing PCM executive team will be working closely with Richard Pryce, deputy chief executive, to ensure continuity to our brokers and clients.

“Ash has made an extraordinary contribution to QBE’s growth and development for over 15 years. We wish him every success with his future career.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
