Tropical Storm Risk (TSR) has updated its forecasts for hurricane and tropical storm activity during 2004.

For the Atlantic, TSR said it continued to anticipate an above-average season, with Atlantic basin and US landfalling hurricane activity predicted to be 127% of average during 2004.

It also said activity for the 2004 Northwest Pacific typhoon season would be close to average. TSR gave a 48% chance that it would be an average season, with only a 31% chance that it would be above average, and a 21% chance of below average activity.

For the 2004/05 tropical storm season in the Australia region, TSR said storm activity and Australian landfalling activity would be near average.
