Jean Drouffe will be responsible for managing AXA’s finance and risk

Jean Drouffe has been appointed finance director for AXA. Drouffe will be responsible for managing the finance and risk across AXA Insurance and providing a strong governance structure that supports AXA Insurance’s business priorities of customer experience, accountability and profitability.

His appointment follows the reorganisation of the business by chief executive, Philippe Maso y Guell Rivet.

As part of his new role, Drouffe has put in place a new structure introducing finance business partners to provide close finance support to each of the company’s four strategic business units, helping them focus on profitability and working closely with them in shaping innovative business solutions for the future.

Drouffe graduated from Ecole Polytechnique in Paris and qualified as an actuary in 1999. Before joining AXA in 2000, he worked for Arthur Andersen as a Pension Actuary. He joined AXA UK in 2004 as Head of Financial Risk Management.

Commenting on his appointment, Drouffe said: “I very much believe the finance function should be at the heart of any organisation and can add significant value to the business-facing teams. In particular, we should be involved in shaping the business decisions and finding the right solutions to ensure we manage risk, whilst improving our profitability and safeguarding our customer’s experience”.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
