Bermuda-based Axis Capital managed to report a profit for the third quarter of 2004, despite the period's "unprecedented number of hurricances and typhoons".

The company managed to report net income of $6.3m for the three months to September, compared to $147m last year. Gross written premiums were up 8.5% to $687.7m.

For the first nine months of the year, Axis made $313.9m in net income, down from $371.9m.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
