Former Royal Liver chairman joins broker’s board
Barbon Insurance Group has appointed David Woods as a non-executive director.
Woods is the former chairman of Royal Liver Assurance, and was previously chief executive of Scottish Provident.
Barbon Group chairman Jamie Smith said: “We are delighted that David Woods has decided to join the Barbon board. Our ability to attract a vastly experienced individual of David’s standing in the industry reflects the strength of both our business and our brand.”
Woods said: “I look forward to working with my new colleagues at Barbon and to helping the group take advantage of the opportunities that lie ahead.”
In addition to his new role at Barbon Group, Woods is a non-executive director of Standard Life UK Smaller Companies Trust plc and The Moller Centre for Continuing Education. He is also chairman of the Pension Fund Trustees for all UK companies in the Steria Group and a trustee of the Scottish Provident Pension Fund.
