Paul Tye

Barbon Insurance Group has appointed Paul Tye as underwriting director to its property and commercial division.

Barbon chief operating officer Mark Armitage said: “We are constantly looking at ways to ensure that we offer the best underwriting expertise and performance in the business, and this latest appointment is part of that ongoing process.”

He added: “Paul has worked as an underwriting controller with us for more than two years and has sound industry experience including a period at CCV as head of underwriting. His excellent insurer knowledge also makes him the ideal candidate to help strengthen and maintain relationships with a seven strong panel of insurers across the Barbon Group and to continue driving forward our strategy of offering quality products and services at the right price.”

Tye said: “I am excited to spearhead such a talented and highly experienced team of underwriters. We will continue to use our much improved management information processes to boost our underwriting and technical skills in order to be able to offer consistent pricing to clients, combined with a wide range of innovative cover, which remains competitive in the market place.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
