Claims management company Barkley Maine Corporation has been forced into provisional liquidation.

Stephen Byers MP, Secretary of State for Industry, has presented a petition to the High Court to wind up the public interest in Barkley Maine Corporation following an investigation by trading standards officers.

The Court appointed the Official Receiver as provisional liquidator on August 18 pending the hearing of the petition on October 13.

Barkley Maine provides a wide range of claims management services to the insurance industry.

Its core business is maintaining a database of builders and contractors which are able to carry out work referred by insurers.

Other services include vehicle breakdown and call centres.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
