Motorbike insurer Bennetts has appointed Matthew Long as its new associate director, commercial.

Long joins Bennetts from Sainsbury’s Bank, where he held responsibility for insurance product development across family protection, pet insurance and travel products.

He will be responsible for the delivery of commercial opportunities, overseeing relationships with the brand’s panel of insurers and customer service.

Bennetts director, Paul Galligan, said: “I’m delighted to welcome Matthew to the Bennetts team. He has a great track record from his time with Sainsbury’s Bank and HBOS, and has excellent insight into both the insurance industry and how best to give customers what they are looking for. Long has held previous insurance–related roles at HBOS and Halifax.
