Brit Insurance has appointed Janet Henderson as head of its North American professional liability underwriting team. Henderson, who joined Brit Insurance in March 2003, replaces Richard Hardingham, who is retiring.
Henderson began underwriting professional liability in Lloyd's in 1989. She takes on the leadership of the five strong Brit Insurance team at a time of strategic backing from the Brit Insurance management. Brit Insurance plans to grow the book significantly over the next few years and will be looking to increase their line size in this area from 2007.
Mike Sibthorpe, Brit Insurance's London Market underwriting director, commented: “I am delighted that Janet will be leading our North American Professional Liability team into the next stage of our development. Janet enjoys excellent relationships with clients and brokers and her underwriting knowledge in this specialist area is second to none."
