The bbb issuer credit rating for Brit Insurance Holdings, and all debt ratings, remained unaffected following the announcement of Brit's half-year results, said AM Best.
The A (excellent) financial strength rating and the a issuer credit rating of Brit Insurance Ltd also remain unaffected.
AM Best said Brit's results for the six months ended 30 June 2004 were within its expectations.
But the ratings agency said it continued to discuss the impact of catastrophes on Brit in the second half of the year, particularly what impact Hurricane Frances would have on the group's results.
