An insurance broker who sold more than 40,000 bogus policies was jailed for almost five years yesterday.
John Walker pleaded guilty of defrauding policyholders of more than £10.5m and pocketing £550,000. Walker told clients he had successfully placed cover when had not.
A High Court in Edinburgh sentenced the fraudster to four years and ten months.
