Ward Evans has strengthened its team with seven new appointments at its London office. Gez Wilmott has been appointed financial services (group) director. He rejoins Ward Evans after spending several months building his own business. Corporate independent financial adviser, Raja Patel will take responsibility for generating and implementing new business in several sectors including retirement planning and executive benefit planning. Chris Devine has joined as account executive responsible for reviewing clients insurances and trainee account executive Suzy Titcombe has joined to review insurance programmes for commercial companies. Matt Sanders has been appointed professional indemnity senior executive, Vikram Doshi and Ben Burford join as trainee account executives.

Bollington
Julie McGibbon has joined The Bollington Group as manager of its corporate risks division. McGibbon, who will control the commercial account, is joined by two further appointments, Karen Hayward as senior corporate account handler and Kate Abbot as trainee account handler.

Marsh
Hamish M.J. Ritchie has been appointed chairman of Marsh & McLennan Companies (MMC) UK. He will also continue as chairman of Marsh Europe, MMC's risk and insurance services operating company in Europe. Reporting to Mathis Cabiallavetta, vice chairman of MMC and chairman of MMC Europe, he will co-ordinate business development and enhance services to UK clients.

SBJ
Stephen Botley and David Norman have been appointed directors of SBJ and Adrian Reeve has been made executive director of SBJ Nelson Steavenson.

INSURERS
St Paul
Gary Ennis has been appointed regional development manager based in Belfast for the St Paul. Ennis joins from Marsh and is the company's first-ever appointment in the province.

Reliance National
Paul Filbrook has been appointed senior underwriter in the accident and health division of Reliance National's London office. Before joining, Filbrook worked for Groupama where he wrote accident and health business in the London market.

CIS
Laverne Picart has been appointed as corporate affairs investment analyst and Rosemary Francis joins as social investment researcher. Both will advise senior management on whether companies in which CIS invests show appropriate standards of corporate governance and social accountability.

BUPA International
Sue Summers has been appointed head of corporate sales for Brighton-based BUPA International. Peter Saunders, head of sales, said: "She brings a wealth of expertise from her previous roles. Her experience will enable her to make a valuable contribution to driving the business forward."

REINSURERS
Axa Re
Duncan Cornwell has been appointed a claims manager for Axa Re, taking over from Paul Moss who becomes group claims manager for Axa Re worldwide. In its treaty department, Penny Heal is promoted to the role of underwriter. On the facultative side Peter Rossell becomes senior underwriter (engineering) and Rebecca Steel is promoted to underwriter (international). Michael Jordan, assistant general manager, said: "These changes reflect Axa Re UK's commitment to strengthen its underwriting teams."

Loss Recovery Group
Emma Viney has been promoted to development manager at Loss Recovery Group. She has recently gained the associateship of the Chartered Insurance Institute and will develop loss recovery insurance with mainstream broking houses.

MISCELLANEOUS
Affinity Solutions
Steve Rose has been appointed associate director at marketing consultancy Affinity Solutions. Rose, who previously spent 12 years in various management positions at Prudential, will be heading the consulting team based in Haywards Heath, West Sussex.

Joslin Rowe
Buffy Stock has been appointed as director of Joslin Rowe recruitment consultants insurance division, based in London. Stuart Prentice joins as risk management consultant.

Synex
Paul Hooper joins Synex, an independent business telecommunications provider, as sales manager.

Service Master
Dave Stirling has been appointed to the newly-created role of national accounts manager.
