Green light for peer's health and safety blueprint

RSA has welcomed the government’s commitment to implement the Young review of health and safety.

Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne used the Budget statement to confirm that the government will fully implement Lord Young’s review of health and safety, which set out a range of proposals to tackle the so called compensation culture.

Osborne also said that the activities of no win no fee lawyers will be restricted, indicating that the government will press ahead with its plans to take forward the Jackson review of civil litigation costs. Both moves are part of a wider government economic growth drive to cut red tape on businesses.

An RSA spokesman said: "We welcome the Chancellor's announcement regarding the restriction of the no win, no fee industry, and look forward to seeing the details regarding implementing the Young Review's recommendations."
