Insurance managers say more than half of business leaders fail to make the grade, research published by the Department for Trade and Industry claimed today.
The findings suggest that insurance managers are desperate for business leaders who produce results, demonstrate trust and respect their teams.
Fewer than four in 10 managers, the study shows, find these traits in their own work place.
On top of that, little more than one in 10 respondents said business leaders are inspirational- deemed the most important trait by insurance managers.
Senior industrialist working with DTI, Nigel Crouch said the modern workforce is more sophisticated than ever before.
He said: “Ultimately people are still looking for something different and better in organisational leadership.”
