Lloyd’s insurer Chaucer has hired Henry Buchanan as an underwriter in the political violence and terrorism team of its marine division.

He will join the firm on 14 July from broker Marsh, where he was senior vice-president of war and terrorism.

Buchanan has more than a decade of experience as a broker, managing political violence and terrorism clients, mainly from Europe and Asia.

"The appointment of Henry further enhances our political violence and terrorism underwriting capabilities and demonstrates our continued dedication to providing excellent client service within the Lloyd's market,” said Andrew Bauckham, political violence class underwriter at Chaucer Syndicate 1084.
