Childcare insurance specialist launches pack to help childminders

Childcare insurance specialist, Morton Michel, has launched a new resource pack, which gives childminders guidance for the preparation of their policies and procedures.

Known as the Policies and Procedures pack, it forms one of fourteen sections of the ChildMinder Organiser, which Morton Michel has developed to help childminders organise their business.

Morton Michel developed the ChildMinder Organiser to complement its ChildMinder insurance.

The decision to produce a Policies and Procedures pack resulted from a survey carried out by Morton Michel. “We conducted the survey as part of a review of our ChildMinder Organiser,” said Samantha Beere, partner at Morton Michel. “We asked childminders about their use of the Organiser and their needs. One thing that there was a particular demand for was help with preparing policies and procedures statements.”

The pack provides guidance for the core policies: behaviour management, equal opportunities, outings, sick child, special educational needs and working in partnership with parents and carers; and the procedures include: accidents/incidents/emergencies, child not collected, child protection, complaints, fire and lost child.
