The CII has awarded the Bridgewater Award for Exceptional Service to UIA Insurance managing director Ian Templeton.

The award was made as part of the CII's annual Exceptional Service Awards.

Templeton has been a member of the CII since 1967 and is currently chairman of its examinations committee, a role he has held since 2000, said the institute.

In addition to Templeton's award, six people were awarded an Exceptional Service Medal:

· Michael Mead – London
· Richard Moss – Bristol
· Ian Sadler – Brighton
· Lindsay Williamson – Edinburgh

In addition, the CII has awarded seven members a Distinguished Service Medal:

· Derek Hammond Giles – London
· Terry Hayday – London
· Max Robinson – London
· Frank Smith – Royal Tunbridge Wells
· Diana Webley – Horsham & Crawley
· William Whiteside – Belfast

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
