The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) has launched a new series of Regulatory Update events to be run in partnership with Grant Thornton and the CII general insurance faculties.

The masterclasses will feature the very latest on key topics such as Treating Customers Fairly (TCF), Payment Protection Insurance, Conflicts of Interest, Client Money and Contract Certainty -designed to inform and put the issues in the wider regulatory context.

Fiona Andrews, CII head of general insurance faculties, said: “The content of these seminars will be 'hot off the press' as we present the latest thinking on five topics which are still uppermost in the regulatory agenda."

The six events will run from 5 September to 4 October and will be held across the UK in Birmingham, Glasgow, Leeds, London and Manchester.

Trevor Newbery, a partner within Grant Thornton's Financial Markets Group added: "Everyone needs to realise that TCF, Client Money and Conflicts of Interest are still very much live issues. In order to get ahead of the game by looking at what should be done now to meet FSA expectations, we will explore the likely direction of the regulator in the next 12 to 24 months. Issues with Contract Certainty and Payment Protection Insurance will also be addressed."
