Comparethemarket adds Hastings products to car panel

Price comparison site Comparethemarket has added Hastings Premier car and bike products to its car insurance panel.

The cover, provided by broker Hastings Direct, has recently been given a five-star rating by financial research company Defaqto.

Comparethemarket insurance director Simon McCulloch said: “Hastings Premier brings a different dimension to comparethemarket.com, helping us to extend our offering even further. We’re pleased that this move will enable us to give more customers competitive options for their car and bike insurance.”

In a separate development, Comparethemarket has hired Jeremy Chadwick as commercial director.

Chadwick (left) joins from Zurich where he was head of accident and health for Europe.

He will be responsible for commercial strategy and development, covering all product categories within the company, including insurance and money.
