The International Underwriting Association (IUA) is to make compliance advice a key part of the services it supplies to insurers and reinsurers, it announced.

It said it would establish a compliance committee to examine current issues and provide a forum for the exchange of information and experiences.

In addition, compliance information would be incorporated into a new IUA website. Compliance information will be posted in a new section of the IUA website, accessible to IUA members only.

IUA chief executive Marie-Louise Rossi, said: "Monitoring compliance and regulatory developments are amongst the IUA's core services to its member companies.

"The increased burden of regulation has led to a substantial increase in compliance inquiries from member companies.

"The creation of a new compliance committee reflects this and is an important part of expanding and improving the provision of compliance data available to the market."
