Cox Insurance Retail Division said its talks with troubled broker system provider Brokersoft were now at an advanced stage. The announcement followed news that Cox had entered into exclusive talks with Brokersoft.
Cox said this was a positive development for the 70 intermediaries who currently used the Brokersoft system. It added that the agreement had enabled Brokersoft to issue its June update on time, as planned, and that it would also ensure that brokers using the system could continue trading.
Cox Insurance Retail Division chief executive Neil Utley said: "Our proposals will allow us to ensure the continuity of service to Brokersoft system users."
