The Centre for Future Studies will hold a series of workshops on crime and the need for collaboration between insurers and police.

The first workshop of the series, organised by the centre's insurance forum programme, was held in Gatwick recently. The topic was crime detection and prevention.

Key speakers at the workshop were Metropolitan Police deputy assistant commissioner Michael Todd and Home Office Action Against Crime and Disorder Unit spokesman Vincent Couch.

The next workshop, to be held in the New Year, will concentrate on electronic and cybercrime and their implications for the insurance industry.
