Brokers using Computer Sciences Corporation's (CSC) September Private Motor update were forced to scrap it and reload after a major flaw was discovered in the latest rates update.

The Private Motor update, which is used by approximately 1,400 CSC brokers, had a problem which meant some new drivers appeared to have cover since they were 17 years old, resulting in significantly reduced premium levels.

CSC said the incorrect version had been running for about two weeks before it was pointed out by three insurers.

As yet it is not known how much new business was offered at incorrect rates, but so far business has been honoured by the insurers involved.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
