Around 3,000 homes have been flooded

Loss adjuster Cunningham Lindsey is using drone technology to capture footage of flooding throughout the North West in the aftermath of Storm Desmond.

Available to view here, the footage is helping the loss adjuster assess the severity of damage throughout the area.

It has so far received storm and flood claims from over 83 postcode areas in the UK, with Cumbria and Northumberland worst affected.

A spokesperson for Cunningham Lindsey said: “Communications continue to be a problem – both for customers and our adjusters, as thousands of homes and businesses are still without power, and mobile phone reception is generally very poor.”

The high availability and low cost of drone technology makes it appealing to the industry, and it can help loss adjusters instantly access areas it would otherwise take weeks for them to cover.
