Finance director appointed MD as broker makes succession plans.

Perskins Slade chief executive David Slade has been appointed non-executive chairman of the broker, following a management reshuffle.

Nick Tamblyn, previously financial director, is promoted to managing director of Perkins Slade.

The company said the changes were part of its management succession plan.

Perkins Slade's independent non-executive director, Harry Towers, will retire from the board of Perkins Slade at the end of the year. He will be replaced in this role by Ron Forrest, the company's former non-executive chairman.

Slade said: “Nick Tamblyn richly deserves his promotion. In his five years with the company he has demonstrated his excellent all round management skills and I know that he has the support of all the firm’s professional insurance practitioners in addition to that of his board colleagues”.

Perkins recently announced that the company had discontinued its investigation of finding a merger partner and re-affirmed its strategy of remaining an independent company, after sale talks with Oval fell through.
