'A first for the UK loss adjusting market', says firm

Delta Claims Services, a newly created liability adjusting business, has introduced a franchise business model to its organisation in an effort to improve service, encourage innovation and support more independence in its adjusting business.

It said the model is a first for the UK loss adjusting market.

The introduction of a franchise business model to Delta will see the creation of owner operators of liability adjusting business units trading within and under the Delta banner. By 2012, it is envisaged that over forty owner operators will have signed a deal with Delta.

Before introducing the new business model, Delta studied how other countries operated similar franchise models and spent time with a US adjusting company who has operated in this way for over 50 years.

Simon Burley, founder and director of Delta Claims Services, said: "In the UK, there are significant flaws in the way many adjusting companies are run. The potential rewards are there for only a limited number of stakeholders, often resulting in less dynamic, motivated and customer focused personnel.

"When running our last business (Sigma Claims Solutions), we felt an intense passion and commitment to delivering innovative solutions and service, so we simply wanted to find a model which would recreate some of that desire at all levels within the business and transcend a larger business model."

Owen Gorman, director of Delta Claims Services, said: "By providing a national operation comprising experienced and motivated adjusters, we can deliver a better and more consistent quality service."
