Gallagher has appointed Steve Munday as managing partner for natural resources as it continues to expand its renewable energy capabilities.
In his new position, Munday will focus on developing Gallagher’s client offering, capabilities and portfolio within its renewable energy business.
The appointment comes as the renewable energy sector continues to attract significant investment globally, creating increasingly complex insurance and risk management requirements for clients.

Experience
He brings more than 30 years of experience across the energy, construction and project finance sectors, including more than 20 years specialising in renewable energy risks. His career began in underwriting before moving into broking and advisory roles.

Munday joins the broker from WTW, where he spent the last decade leading the firm’s global renewable energy practice and London renewables team.
In his new role will report to Julian Raven, chief executive of natural resources, and work alongside Duncan Gordon, head of renewable energy.

His career began in 2019, when he joined a local north London newspaper after graduating from the University of Sheffield with a first-class honours degree in journalism.
He took up the position of deputy news editor at Insurance Times in March 2023, before being promoted to his current role in May 2024.View full Profile
