’He is a highly respected figure in our industry and an outstanding addition to our team,’ says regional managing director of corporate for UK and Ireland retail

Gallagher has appointed Matthew Foy as strategic account director within its UK and Ireland retail division.

In his new role, Foy will be responsible for leading client relationships and supporting the continued development of Gallagher’s proposition for major corporate clients.

The appointment is the latest in a series of hires across Gallagher’s specialist corporate team, which provides risk management and insurance propositions to large businesses.

Gallagher said the recruitment forms part of ongoing investment in its UK and Ireland retail division following a restructure introduced in late 2025.

Foy said: “Gallagher has built a strong position in the corporate client market and I am excited to help drive the next phase of its growth.

”The opportunity to join a client-focused, entrepreneurial team within one of the world’s leading insurance brokers was extremely compelling.

”I look forward to bringing my experience to the business, helping shape our corporate strategy and delivering even greater value for clients.”

Experience

Foy joins the broker from Aon, where he spent more than eight years in a variety of roles, most recently serving as head of office in Manchester.

Prior to joining Aon, he spent eight years at Griffiths and Armour, leaving the business as associate director.

James Murray, regional managing director of corporate for UK and Ireland retail at Gallagher, said: “Foy is a highly respected figure in our industry and an outstanding addition to our team.

”His passion for clients, deep technical expertise and strong leadership closely reflect our values. He joins Gallagher at an exciting time as we continue to invest in our UK corporate team and he will play a pivotal role in accelerating our growth and strengthening our proposition for major corporate clients.”
