Ecclesiastical Insurance has completed the first phase of a multi-million pound data migration project to run its products on an PMSC's I+ system, having previously used an IBM mainframe.

The first product to run on I+ is Right Home, a direct product that went live at the beginning of October.

Currently Right Home renewals are being conducted on the IBM system, but these policies will be transferred to I+ by the end of the year.

The next phase of the migration will be to switch all Ecclesiastical's commercial broker products over by March next year, with a "mop up" of all outstanding products taking place in 2001.

Chris Lees anticipates a 30% improvement in policy handling thanks to the new system.

He said: "Right Home is working superbly well and we are really pleased with it."
