New system to speed up claims, says firm
A technical services firm believes it has developed a system to speed up property damage claims.
Ellipta, which launches ClaimSpec this month, claims that it will appoint a contractor within two days, making it the quickest in the industry.
The company also says its continuous competitive tendering will reduce costs for insurers on commercial and domestic claims.
Ellipta has 17 regional offices around the UK with a supply chain of about 175 contractors.
When a property claim is received, a ClaimSpec contractor will follow the tendering process, evaluating the schedule of repairs and comparing it against a built-in database of tendered rates previously provided by approved local contractors.
The system will then automatically determine the evaluation and tell Ellipta’s surveyors to inform the policyholder which contractor is likely to be carrying out the repairs to their property.
