Equitas has extended its IT outsourcing deal with ITNET for a further three years, in a deal worth £14.1m.

In addition a £1.7m deal has been signed for ITNET to conduct a number of projects designed to help Equitas continue to achieve its annual cost reduction targets.

The new deal extends the provision of current services to 2007. These include desktop management, helpdesk support, server hosting, network management and application management.

Three additional projects, worth £1.7m, are already underway that will reshape the way ITNET delivers its services and enable Equitas to continue to reduce its IT costs, said the IT and business process outsourcing company.

Equitas finance director Jane Barker, said: “Having worked with ITNET for the past four years we are confident that it will continue to offer us the levels of service we need to run our business effectively.

“Furthermore, tit has proved that they understand our business need to continue to reduce our costs in line with our run off strategy. It has already embarked on a number of projects that will allow us to reduce our IT costs and is adapting its services to reflect the shrinking nature of our business.”

Equitas first signed an outsourcing deal with ITNET in October 2000, when 120 former Equitas IT staff were transferred to the company.
