New group non-executive chairman will bring "invaluable" board-level experience

Giles Insurance has appointed George Prescott as group non-executive chairman.

Prescott is an ex-deputy chief executive of Ecclesiastical and currently a member of the J.P. Morgan Cazenove pension trustee board.

His past experience includes being a non-executive board member of two quoted investment companies, St Andrew Trust Plc and Martin Curry Income & Growth Trust Plc. He was also a member of the ABI Investment Committee.

The firm’s chief executive Chris Giles said: “George’s extensive board-level experience across the insurance, banking and finance sectors will prove invaluable to Giles.”

Prescott, a chartered accountant, said: “I am delighted to be joining Giles at such an interesting period in its development.

“I very much look forward to working with Chris and the team as we continue to build and develop the Giles business across the UK.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
