The Fairchild hearing in the House of Lords has been brought forward by two weeks.
The Lords will hear the case today and tomorrow rather than 20 and 21 May after Sir Sydney Kentridge, who represents Mrs Fox, was unable to make the later dates.
Insurers and mesothelioma sufferers and their families are eagerly awaiting the outcome of the case, after a recent attempt by insurers to offer an eleventh-hour settlement to Mrs Fox, Mrs Fairchild and Mr Matthews.
Although Mr Matthews and Mrs Fairchild were keen to settle, Mrs Fox insisted the hearing went ahead, as she said to drop it would disadvantage hundreds of mesothelioma sufferers whose level of compensation would be affected by a House of Lords decision.
The Association of British Insurers (ABI) has welcomed the earlier hearing.
"Our view has always been that we want the issues resolved as soon as possible, for the benefit of the claimants and insurers," an ABI spokesman said.
