The finale of QBE's competition reveals the overall winner.

A dramatic climax to the 2007/08 football season saw Manchester United claim a Premier League and European Cup double, but it was Lancashire lass Delia Crompton’s triple winning performance that saw her crowned QBE fantasy football champion.

Crompton, of broker Crompton Bailey in Ashton-under-Lyne, scooped the £30,000 winning prize after her team, Button Moon, scored an overall 561 points to finish 19 points ahead of the closest challenger.

Her team’s sensational performance on the final day, which saw her score 29 points, also won her the £2,500 prize for May’s Manager of the Month, a repeat of the award she had already picked up in March.

Martin Dugmore, of Mitchells & Butlers, finished in second place after his team, The Jean Genie, collected 542 points. He was closely followed by ONE Underwriting’s Chris Payne, whose team Payneys Boy totalled 536.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
