FirstAssist is to replace its entire back office IT infrastructure with Oracle’s E-Business Suite, a system which it said was designed to support the future development of the company.

The E-Business Suite includes an integrated set of Oracle’s business applications, said First Assist, including finance, HR and software to automate the claims management process.

It said the new software would allow the company to integrate and automate traditionally separate aspects of the claims handling process. FirstAssist said this would allow it to reduce cycle times, form service agreements that better meet market needs, improve the quality of service, and increase customer satisfaction.

FirstAssist IT director Mitch Lambton, said: “As a result of the MBO from former parent Royal & SunAlliance in April 2003, FirstAssist is in the fortunate position of being an established company with a greenfield technology infrastructure.

“This gives us the opportunity to challenge traditional market approaches to healthcare and assistance services. Oracle's integrated approach allows us to cost-effectively transform our business processes and will help us minimise risk and maximise results.
