Andrew Gibson is to return to Highway Insurance Holdings as chief executive a year after leaving to join Equity.
Gibson spent the past year as group finance firector of Equity Insurance Group. He was previously Highway's chief executive between 2002 and 2005, and finance director between 1996 and 2002.
His start date is yet to be confirmed and Highway will make a further announcement in due course.
Richard Gamble, chairman of Highway, said: “We are delighted to have secured the appointment of Andrew as chief executive. He is a talented and experienced insurance executive and one who knows our business extremely well.
“His appointment will complete the management restructuring we announced in July and we look forward to building for the future under Andrew's leadership.”
