Future with firm unclear after four-and-a-half-year term

Giles group managing director Sarah Lyons has left the company while “certain contractual issues” are addressed.

“Sarah Lyons has been an important and valued member of the Giles team for four and a half years,” a spokesman told Insurance Times. “She is currently on leave while the company and Sarah address certain contractual issues.”

The spokesman declined to comment further on Lyons’ future with the firm.

Lyons was appointed managing director of Giles in march 2010 following a management shake-up and the departure of retail managing director Howard Pearson.

Lyons joined Giles in 2007 and was group operations director before her promotion to managing director.

Former Willis UK and Ireland chief executive Brendan McManus will take the helm of Giles from current chief executive Chris Giles in April.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
