John Reynolds
Danny Stewart has been appointed business development executive at John Reynolds. He will work within its trade credit & political risks division.

Stewart joins Reynolds from Lloyds TSB Receivables Finance.

Miller has promoted Clive Stanley to director of energy and Jan Moulson to director of marine.

DS Howell
DS Howell has appointed Michelle Rees as a commercial account handler.

Previously employed by AXA Insurance in Cardiff as a commercial underwriter, Rees has over 10 years' experience of the South Wales market.

Peter Hattersley & Partners
Peter Hattersley & Partners has appointed Jullian Shawcross as its new managing director.

He will replace Peter Hattersley, who has been appointed to the position of executive chairman.


Jonathan Chapman has joined Towergate Northern Underwriters in the role of key account manager, North.

He was previously employed as underwriting manager for Inghams in Ripon.

Chapman will be responsible for the development of large broker accounts of liability and construction business in the north of England, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Motor insurer Highway has appointed Scott Greenhill to the newly-created role of motor products manager.

His main responsibilities will be for the profitability and growth of the motor account and the management of the class underwriters.

In addition, Greenhill will contribute to the technical development of broker services staff and the ongoing improvement of products and schemes.

Prior to joining Highway, Greenhill worked for KGM.

MMA Insurance has announced the appointment of four key positions.

John Gray and Steve Joy join MMA as regional business development managers for the North and South, respectively. They will each manage a team of four regional business development executives.

Joy was previously with Norwich Union where he was involved in business development, consultancy and acquisitions.

Gray has extensive sales and management experience with major insurers, including Norwich Union and Lombard General.

Anthony Harris and Keith Svendsen have been appointed commercial development executives, for the north and south, respectively.

Svendsen has been with MMA for more than four years dealing with personal and commercial products.

Harris joined MMA in 2003 from Royal & SunAlliance in Newcastle.

Arista has announced further details of its core management team.

The new management team consists of: Peter Young, head of business operations; Richard Addis, head of underwriting; Kevin Buckland, head of strategy and planning; and Jeff Chapell, head of broker development.

Also Alan Horemans will head up motor underwriting, Simon Henderson will head schemes underwriting while Euros Jones becomes head of regional operations.

Dave Aslin becomes South West regional manager, Julian Holloway is appointed South regional manager and Dave Cheeseman becomes head of business systems.

TT Club
TT Club has appointed Mike Foster to the new position of claims director.

Foster will be responsible for claims management worldwide.

He was formerly head of the UK and Irish business unit, a position he held since 2002.

Fortis has appointed David Roberts to head up its London syndications team.

He will be responsible for the organisation of high grade syndicated loans.

Roberts joins from KPMG London where he was senior consultant in the debt and real estate advisory team.

Heritage has appointed James Sardeson as underwriting director.

Sardeson will join the board of Heritage Managing Agency Ltd and will also become a member of the group executive.

He joins Heritage from Lloyd's Japan where he has been president and chief executive for the past four years.


Sidley Austin
Sidley Austin has announced that Dorothy Cory-Wright will join the London office to establish and head an insurance contentious litigation practice.

She has substantial experience in reinsurance and insurance arbitration and litigation.

Cory-Wright represents many international insurers and reinsurers, including US and Bermuda clients, as well as London market companies and Lloyd's entities.

Barlow Lyde & Gilbert
Barlow Lyde & Gilbert has announced that Jon Yorke has joined the firm as a partner.

Yorke recently acted on a number of schemes of arrangement for insolvent and solvent insurance companies in the London market and abroad.


Andy Syddell has been appointed to the UKGI business development team.

Syddell has a background in business development and will cover eastern England, north and east London, Kent and Cambridgeshire.

He joins from Quinn-direct insurance, where he was a regional broker manager.

Complinet has appointed Mike Tansey to its board as a non-executive director.

Tansey, who has worked in the content and technology industry for 25 years, is chief executive of Jobson Medical Information.

Lloyd Hanks has been appointed distribution director of Aascent Finance.

He will be responsible for all customer facing contact including sales, marketing, underwriting and collections.

Ed Ferrell becomes group services director, delivering all aspects of the group's internal functions and operations including IT, HR, quality control and finance.

Mathieson-Ingham has appointed Lynn Owen as an assistant case manager.

She is responsibile for claims management and the production of management information in relation to all insurer and corporate client relationships.

Motor Investigation Agency
Motor Investigation Agency (MIA) has appointed John McLennan as business development consultant.

McLennan will concentrate on expanding MIA's market share in both claims and investigations services.

He was previously technical claims director (UK claims) for Royal and SunAlliance.
