Broker

Marsh
Marsh has expanded its forensic accounting and claims services team with the appointment of Luc Agostini.

Agostini joins from Corporate Claims International, where he specialised in business interruption claims for clients in the UK, Europe, Middle East and North America.

He will manage the preparation of business interruption claims within the claims team, and focus on international client development.

Beverley Hurren has been appointed senior consultant of the human capital division in the risk consulting practice in Manchester.

Hurren will work closely with clients to develop risk improvement strategies to enhance performance and reduce costs.

Hurren previously worked as a health and safety professional for a variety of companies.

Phillip Sanchez is appointed as a senior consultant in its modelling, analysis and design division of its risk consulting practice.

Sanchez will be responsible for collating information to understand and model risks facing clients. This includes forecasting losses, premium allocations and helping clients find the optimal risk transfer design in their risk strategies.

Sanchez comes to Marsh from Jardine Lloyd Thompson.

Philip Kay joins Marsh as a client executive for risk management practice, servicing existing accounts in Leeds and working on a number of new prospects.

Kay previously worked for Aon, where he serviced major northern accounts. He has also worked for Sedgwick and Marsh in London.

Priest & Co
Priest & Co has made five appointments to the newly formed commercial risk division. Manjit Gill, Paul Russell, Lesley Walker, Paul Bartley and Anthea Bloom will all be based in the City.

W Burch
W Burch has appointed Hugh Reid as commercial account executive.

Reid has over 30 years' experience as a commercial broker.

Medisure
Medisure has appointed Katie Wilkie as corporate relationship executive.

Wilkie will be responsible for developing relationships with large employers looking to maximise their investment in healthcare.

She joins from Mercer Human Resource Consulting.

Perkins Slade
Perkins Slade, has appointed Stuart Love as a main board director, with responsibility for the sports division. He joins from Thomas, Carroll.

Richard Doubleday is appointed as chairman of Perkins Slade sports division.

He will be responsible for client and business development strategy and relationships with the wider sports community.

Insurer

AIRS
Neil Watkins has been appointed technical manager of Aquilo Inspection & Reinstatement Services (AIRS).

Watkins was formerly at Liverpool Victoria where he was employed in technical claims operation for nearly 20 years and gained considerable skills in all aspects of household claims.

AIRS has also appointed Alex Zappara as national contracts manager. Zappara will be responsible for a team of nationwide contract managers, contractors, surveyors, asbestos samplers & removers and household emergency teams.

He has considerable experience in the building repair market having previously worked for Homeserve Property Repairs and Morrison Group.

Allianz
Allianz has announced seven new appointments to its aviation department.

Graham Spencer-Brown has been appointed underwriter for airlines. Spencer Brown will be working to develop Allianz' airline account and brings over 35 years' experience in aviation insurance to the role.

He will be supported by Cassandra Cummings, who has taken up the position of assistant underwriter for airline airlines.

The general aviation team has also recruited John O'Sullivan, Darren Shearwood and Emma Wright. They will form a new team under underwriting manager John Elphick - O'Sullivan and Shearwood as underwriters and Wright as an assistant underwriter. The team will focus on hull and liability insurance of smaller aircraft.

David Woodcock and Andrew Barker have joined the aviation claims department, both as claims adjusters.

Jubilee Managing Agency
Jubilee Managing Agency has appointed Julian Cashen as active underwriter for the motor business, heading up and being responsible for Syndicate 1231, jubilee motor.

For the past three years he been responsible, firstly for establishing, and then of developing, sub syndicate 1952 and will retain responsibility for this.

Cashen was previously with Gerling where he established the motor fleet department.

Beazley
Neil Brown has been appointed senior underwriter for Beazley's US commercial property team, central region.

Brown has over 20 years' experience in commercial property insurance and was previously underwriting director for mid-west broker operations, at Liberty Mutual Property. He will be based in Chicago.

Rock Insurance
Rock Insurance has appointed a new director, Simon Strong, to cultivate new business and manage existing accounts.

Strong has gained over 20 years experience in the travel insurance sector working with Jardine Insurance Brokers, Suretravel (Aon from 1999), the Primary Group and, prior to joining Rock, Herbert Parnell Financial Services.

Brit
Brit Insurance has strengthened its space underwriting team with the promotion of Chris Gibbs to class underwriter and the appointment of an additional underwriter, Gary Brice.

Gibbs has 22 years' market experience and was previously space underwriter.

Brice joins from Aon where he was director of Aon Space, London. He has 20 years' experience in this field.

Europ Assistance
Europ Assistance has appointed Martin Dexter as business manager to develop products and distribution for its domestic and commercial emergency repair business.

During the past 10 years he has worked with all of the major UK property repair networks and many of the major insurers. s adjuster

Allianz Cornhill
Allianz Cornhill Legal Protection has appointed Chris Coles as the new assistant management accountant.

Working within the management accounts team, Coles will be responsible for providing statistical and financial support to ACLP technical departments and assisting in developing the division's management information systems (MIS).

He joins the team having graduated with a business studies degree, and 12 months experience with Lloyds TSB as sales analysis assistant.

British Exporters Assn
Susan Ross, a client service director of Aon Trade Credit, has been named deputy chairman of the trade body British Exporters Association (BExA).

Ross has worked with Aon since 1985 specialising in export credit insurance, trade finance and receivables portfolio analysis for multinational clients.

Compliance.co.uk
Professor David Jackman has joined Compliance.co.uk to help distinguish the company's response to the Treating Customers Fairly programme.

Jackman was the founding chief executive of the Skills Council for Financial Services and former head of training and compliance, industry training and business ethics at the FSA.

SSP
SSP Holdings has appointed Steve Broughton as non-executive director.

Broughton has held a number of non-executive positions in the insurance and property fields since 2002.

Previously, Broughton was managing director of Royal & SunAlliance's UK personal lines business.

KPMG
KPMG Corporate Finance has appointed Mark Davison as a partner and head of its financial services practice.

He was most recently managing director and head of corporate finance Europe/Asia at Fox-Pitt, Kelton.

Davison has 25 years of investment banking experience in the financial services market with a particular focus on the insurance sector.

Focus
Focus Solutions has appointed David Brooks its new business development director.

Brooks will take responsibility for sales, marketing and business development across the group.

Brooks was previously business development director for Vertex.

He has nearly 20 years' experience within the IT industry.

Assurant
Assurant Solutions has appointed Kathryn Moore as actuarial manager.

Moore will support the chief actuary who is responsible for providing actuarial services to Assurant Solutions including monitoring and advising on pricing, product development and reserve setting in the UK and Ireland.

She has 15 years' experience in the general insurance industry and was previously employed by Genworth Financial.

PricewaterhouseCoopers
PricewaterhouseCoopers has named Ian Dilks the new global head of its insurance group.

Dilks has been a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP since 1986 .

He will be responsible for the global leadership of PricewaterhouseCoopers assurance, advisory and tax services.

Mathieson-Ingham
Mathieson-Ingham Adjusting has appointed Lorraine Johnson as a case manager within its North West operation.

She will be responsible for management and product delivery. Johnson joins from QuestGates.

Open GI
Open GI has appointed Sam Cutler to the role of corporate account manager.

Cutler has worked for Open G I for over 10 years in a number of broker support and technical roles and more recently within sales management.

In her new role she will be responsible for Open G I's larger broker customers and those with complex IT requirements.

Cavell
Susan Grondine has joined Cavell as US general counsel.

Grondine was formerly senior vice president and counsel of Horizon Management Group, the arm of The Hartford Financial Services Group.

SDM
SDM Property Assistance has appointed John Toms to spearhead the company's business development strategy.

Toms was previously Scottish regional manager and special investigator for a national firm of chartered loss adjusters.

He will be based at the company's headquarters in Glasgow.

Cunningham Lindsey Cunningham Lindsey has announced that Kirsten Watson is to join its liability services client team.

Watson will be based in Cunningham Lindsey's offices in Birmingham.

FitzGerald Consulting
FitzGerald Consulting has appointed John Holland as a senior consultant.

Holland will also continue to work as a specialist business interruption consultant ,on large losses, with Crawford and Co.

Countrywide
Countrywide has appointed Tim Rogers as broker services manager.

Rogers joins John Dawson, head of the network, and Nick Giddings, insurance services manager.

Collectively the team will be focused on furthering relationships with key broker accounts and insurer partners so that members continue to increase their levels of support.

Countrywide has also appointed new sales executives, Tom Gabriel and Stephen Burton.

Gabriel has responsibility for the North of England and joins from SME Insurance.

Burton has been appointed to manage the Midlands and rejoins the network after a period working as a broker.

Defaqto
Defaqto Group has appointed Rupert Pennant-Rea as chairman.

Pennant-Rea, a former editor of The Economist and former deputy governor of the Bank of England, is currently chairman of Henderson Group.
