Marsh has appointed Lorraine Savill as vice-president of its private equity and mergers and acquisitions practice, based in London.

Savill joins from HSBC, where she worked in its corporate finance insurance services unit.

Broker Network
Broker Network has appointed Mark Whitlow as director of business development for Broker Network Insurance Brokers.

Whitlow was previously operations manager for Primary Broker Services in Birmingham.

Willis
Natasha Toft has joined Willis Commercial Network's marketing team as a product technician.

Toft joins from Norwich Union, where she was a commercial underwriter in its Cheltenham office.

Bridge Insurance Brokers
Bridge Insurance Brokers in Manchester has appointed John Julier and James Lucas to its corporate team as account executive and account handler respectively.

Julier joins after 30 years at Heath Lambert.

Lucas has previously worked at Marsh and Allianz Cornhill.

Chambers & Newman
Chambers & Newman (Manchester) has promoted Peter Wilson to an account executive.

Joanne Murrell has also joined the firm from Heath Lambert as an account handler.

RHG
RHG Corporate Insurance Brokers in Stevenage has promoted senior commercial account handler Roger Gravatt to director, client servicing.

Gary Philip and Barry Wicks have also joined the firm as sales director and group marketing manager respectively.

Philip was previously regional sales manager at Layton Blackham and Wicks joins from AIG, where he was a branch manager.

Smart & Cook
Karen McKay has joined Smart & Cook's Bellshill team in Scotland as a development executive.

McKay was previously a client manager at Aon.

HSBC Insurance Brokers
HSBC Insurance Brokers has appointed Joanna Purdy and Sam Cise as account handlers within its private client team based in Woking.

Purdy and Cise join from Aon and Tubbs Insurance Brokers respectively.

St Paul Travelers
St Paul Travelers has appointed Michael Hynes from Chubb as senior regional underwriter for Scotland, based in Glasgow.

Chubb
Chubb has created two new roles within its speciality insurance division (CSI).

Andy Francis becomes UK and Ireland regional CSI manager, supported by Neil McCarthy, who has been promoted to UK and Ireland regional technical manager.

Francis was previously Midland branch development manager for Chubb, while McCarthy worked within Chubb's CSI division in Manchester.

Ascot Underwriting
Ascot Underwriting has appointed Ian Martin and Martyn Hedley as non-executive directors, subject to FSA and Lloyd's approval.

Martin is currently chairman of Avesco, and Hedley previously worked in Willis' aviation division for 40 years.

Evolution Underwriting
Evolution Underwriting has appointed Matthew Gates as commercial underwriter.

Gates was previously a commercial underwriter at NIG and Norwich Union.

Cassidy Davis
Cassidy Davis General Syndicate 5820 at Lloyd's has appointed Stuart Newcombe as senior personal accident underwriter.

Newcombe previously worked as a personal accident underwriter at the PAC Armstrong Syndicate.

Commercial Express
Specialist buy-to-let insurance provider Commercial Express has appointed Bob Andrews as director of its direct operation, Letprotector.com.

Andrews had previously been a manager at Archway Insurance since 1995.

Highway
Highway has promoted Alan Hickman to regional account manager for South East England including South and West London.

Hickman had previously worked in underwriting roles since joining Highway in 2001.

Misys
Misys Countrywide has appointed James Ball to its fleet placement team as a sales technician.

Ball joins from Cox Hepburn Insurance Services, where he was fleet department manager.

Coface
Coface UK has appointed Andrew Strong as senior commercial manager, credit insurance.

Strong previously headed a team of 30 at Aon Trade Credit.

MVRA
The Motor Vehicle Repairers' Association has appointed Danielle Henwood in the new role of financial controller.

Henwood joins from PKF Chartered Accountants in Swaziland, where she was group accountant.

Cunningham Lindsey
Cunningham Lindsey International has promoted Robert Dalton and Phillip Durrant to directors.

Dalton specialises in energy and industrial all risks-related losses.

Durrant works within the firm's construction division.

Helphire
Helphire has appointed Rodney Baker-Bates as non-executive chairman.

Baker-Bates was previously chief executive of Prudential Financial Services from 1998 to 2001. He is also currently the chairman of a number of firms, including First Assist.

Alan Tench
Bridge Insurance Brokers in Manchester has appointed Alan Tench to its corporate team as broking manager.

Tench, who brings over 30 years' industry experience to the role, joins Bridge after more than eight years at Marsh. Prior to this he spent 11 years at Aon in various managerial broking roles.

As broking manager Tench will bring focus to Bridge's broking strategy and increase the company's market profile.

Of his appointment Tench said: "I am delighted to be joining such a dynamic independent broker and hope to be instrumental in Bridge's continued success in the years to come."

Tench's interests include football, cricket and listening to music, especially blues.
