Rupert Mclean has joined Towry Law's City office to set up and manage the financial and investment risks area within Towry Law Professions.

Mclean joins from Zurich, where he was a business analyst in its strategic relationship management division.

Broker Network
Broker Network has appointed Nigel Law as director and general manager of Broker Network Insurance Brokers.

Law has previously worked for Norwich Union and, latterly, NIG as regional manager of its north western region.

Taylor Patterson
Preston-based Taylor Patterson has appointed Clark Kent as a commercial broker.

Kent's previous firms include PremierLine Direct and Swinton.

Novae
Novae Underwriting has appointed John Holmes as regional underwriting manager - North.

Holmes, who joins from Brit, has over 14 years' experience of underwriting professional risks and financial liabilities in the Liverpool and Manchester areas.

Markel
Markel Corporation has appointed Steve Cullen as president and chief operating officer of its new business unit, Markel Global Marine and Energy, which will specialise in marine and energy coverages worldwide.

Cullen was previously president and global product line leader of the marine and offshore energy division at XL Insurance.

Anglo Pacific
SME underwriting agency Anglo Pacific Consultants has appointed Scott Dickenson as its new claims manager.

Dickenson will oversee all of the agency's property and liability claims and organise risk surveys.

He joins from Devitt Insurance Brokers, where he was a senior claims handler.

Claim Experts
Claim Experts, previously known as ClaimEx, has promoted Peter Garnham, Richard Knibb, Iain MacBean, David Pallant and Rod Smith to its board of directors.

Former director Alan Cleary has also rejoined the company.

Audatex
Estimating and claims management firm Audatex has appointed Lance Condon as southern area sales manager.

Condon joins from Glass's, where he was responsible for software sales to car retailers and bodyshops.

At Audatex he will support the roll-out of the firm's AudaEnterprise estimating solution within the vehicle repair and claims industry.

Ferma
The Federation of European Risk Management Associations (Ferma) has appointed two vice presidents for the period 2005 to 2007: José Manuel da Fonseca, president of the Portuguese risk management association, Apogeris, and Hans Gorrée, president of the Dutch association, Narim.

Both will support Marie-Gemma Dequae, who began a two-year term as Ferma president in October.

FWD
FWD Financial Services Marketing has promoted recent recruit Emma Lane to senior events consultant within its specialist events division.

Lane previously worked at Zygon Events.

New Scottish team at PBS
Primary Broker Services has appointed two new business underwriters and an administrator to consolidate its newly-established office in Glasgow.

The new recruits, who will support the company's plans for regional expansion, join Stephen Marshall, managing director for Scotland.

Neil Bowen brings 11 years' experience at Norwich Union followed by four years as development underwriter with Chubb to his new role of senior underwriter.

He is joined by Margaret McFarlane (above left) in the position of commercial underwriter.

McFarlane joins from Catlin Ecosse. Her prior experience includes underwriting roles with Independent Insurance and AXA and broking roles with Clydesdale Bank and Thomas Winter.

Supporting the growing team is administrator Stephanie Airlie (above right), who brings a range of office management and communications experience to her new role.
