Primary Broker Services

Former Norwich Union distribution development director Tim Rolfe has joined Primary Brokers Services Holdings as its new chief operating officer. Rolfe will work on an acquisition strategy across the group's full portfolio.

Community Broking
David Worsley has stepped down as Community Broking Group's executive chairman and will now assume a non-executive position.

Laurie Turnbull has been appointed as non-executive chairman.

Aon
Andy Sampson, former head of marketing at Legal & General, joined Aon on 11 April 2005.

Garwyn
Garwyn has appointed the following staff during 2005:Neil Mann and Michael Bate as adjusters in Burton. Mann joined from McLaren Toplis and Bate joined from Royal & SunAlliance (R&SA).

Joanne Clark, Ann Logan and Victoria Edwards as disease claims adjusters at DIU Harrogate. Clark joined from Zurich Commercial, Logan straight from university and Edwards from Gallagher Basset. Howard North also joined from Gallagher Basset (Leeds) as claims technician.

Colin McCrosson joined from NFU Mutual as an adjuster in Durham.

Ola Olatawura, an adjuster, transferred from the Cork office to Gloucester.

Sarah Reynolds joined from R&SA as adjuster at Gerrards Cross.

Mark Burke joined from DLA, London as adjuster in Peterborough.

Tracey Collard and David Menzies joined as claims technicians in Bromsgrove and Glasgow respectively. Collard joined from Midlands Electricity and Menzies joined from Marsh.

Insurers

Travellers Protection
Travellers Protection Services has appointed online marketing specialist Mark Brown as marketing manager. He joins from the AA, where he was online marketing manager.

Legal

Veitch Penny
Darren Salter has become a partner at Veitch Penny. Salter joined the firm in 1996 and is head of the insurance department investigation team.

Herbert Smith
A new management team has taken office at Herbert Smith following the retirement of senior partner Richard Bond.

David Gold is senior partner and Sonya Leydecker has replaced him as head of litigation and arbitration. Michael Walter and Jason Fox are the new heads of corporate and finance respectively.

Former executive partner Iain Rothnie is acting chief operating officer.

Henry Raine also joins as business development partner on the firm's executive committee.

Berrymans Lace Mawer
Berrymans Lace Mawer (BLM) has appointed three partners:

Jeremy Cama at BLM Dubai. Cama first joined BLM Dubai as country manager in 2004.

Guy Lane at BLM London. Lane, who joined BLM in 2001, has extensive dispute resolution experience.

Neil Richards at BLM Manchester. Richards joined BLM in 1997 and specialises in public and employers' liability.

James Chapman & Co
James Chapman has promoted Wendy Fox to partner in its personal injury department. Fox joined James Chapman two years ago and acts for insurers facing large loss claims. She specialises in employers' and public liability and motor accident claims.

Doug Pennycuick
Allianz Global Risks UK has appointed Doug Pennycuick as its new general manager.

Pennycuick, who joined Allianz in February 1999, takes over the role from Horst Hanauer on 1 July 2005.

Pennycuick worked for Commercial Union for 29 years before moving to Allianz Global Risks UK as national broker and marketing executive. In his current role as director of underwriting, Pennycuick has been closely involved in the repositioning and organisational development of the company.

He said: "Over the last three years we have made significant progress in business turnaround and refocusing on client relationship management both within Allianz Global Risks globally and Allianz Global Risks UK. I look forward to the challenges associated with leading Allianz Global Risks UK in a competitive market environment."

Pennycuick's interests include theatre, sailing and rugby.
