Don Oakley has returned to Independent Insurance to take on the role of manager of its Ireland office in Upper Hatch Street, Dublin.Oakley worked for Independent from 1996 to 1999, becoming regional manager of the St Albans branch before moving to Royal & Sunalliance where he was strategy development manager for 18 months.

Jonathan Houghton has been appointed to the new position of London development manager at St Paul International Companies. He was previously at CGNU where his last role was working within the national broking head office team as the trading consultant. His new role involves developing broker relationships in the London market and growing St Paul's speciality property and liability business.

Rob Evans will work in the liability department. He joins from Axa. He is joined by three recruits from the former Motor Legal Group. Joc Dooley heads the Brownsword filed force, Terri Walsh joins the theft team and Vicki Booth is appointed office administrator. The other appointments are Gerry Curran from Eagle Star who will work in the debt recovery department and Jim Palmer from Groupama who joins the motor vehicle theft team.
