James Healy-Pratt is appointed as general counsel to syndicate 824 of Amlin Aviation, a division of Amlin Underwriting. He is a dual-qualified barrister, able to practise in the UK and the US. As part of restructuring of the claims function, Andrew Metcalfe is appointed claims manager and Julian Smith is appointed senior claims adjuster. Maria Cetta is leaving the syndicate.
Insurex
Insurex has appointed two new underwriters. Tracy Roberts, previously with St Paul & Lombard and Paul Cook, previously with Aon Entertainment Risk Services, have both been taken on at the Tunbridge Wells-based firm.

Ian Stirrups is appointed the actuary for Ecclesiastical Insurance's group life funds – Ecclesiastical Insurance Office and Allchurches Life. He joined the group in 1979. Lexington Insurance Company
Chris Horton is appointed general manager of Lexington Insurance Company. He has been with Lexington for 17 years, most recently as senior vice president of casualty.

The International Risk Management Group has made three new appointments. Markus Mende, previously with Allianz, is appointed employee benefits expert.John Stuart, previously the finance director, is appointed managing director to the board of international risk management (Guernsey). Paul Wakefield is appointed business development director.

Kay Pysden is appointed head of the transit team at Davies Lavery. Psyden was previously a partner in Hill Dickinson's city goods in transit department.

GAB Robins has announced managment changes and an appointment. Bob Swan joins the business interruption and accountancy team. He is a chartered accountant and chartered loss adjuster. Benedict Burke is appointed chief operating officer. The executive committee reamins unchanged with four directors. The board comprises Burke, Clive Nicholls, chief executive officer, Peter Hardy, finance director, and Dr Barry Wetherilt, IT director. Trevor Latimer is appointed UK operations director.
David Cobbold, previously with McLarens, is appointed area director for the north. Andy Merchant is appointed UK deputy liability director.

Cunningham Ellis & Buckle has expanded its special adjusting network in the north of England. Bill Padley and Phil Scales join the team. Andrew Neil joins Cunningham Ellis & Buckle as regional accountant.
