Travellers will be able to buy insurance from touchscreens at Heathrow Airport folowing a deal struck between an internet travel insurance company and multi-media company, WAM Interactive.

GoSure.com, with policies underwritten by CGU, signed a deal with WAM last week to put its web pages on to WAM's airport touchscreen consoles.

The deal ends a four-month search by WAM for a travel insurance provider for its WAMworld screens. Via the touchscreen, users can visit the sites of a host of advertisers alongside live news feeds, sports results and share moves. The touchscreens include powerful brands such as Avis and Kodak as well as BAA terminal information and advice on duty free.

The GoSure pages on WAMworld will look similar to the web site (www.gosure.com) offering travellers insurance cover for short breaks, winter sports and annual policies.

Users can choose their policy and make a payment via the credit card reader and then print off a cover note with the policy number. The full policy is then posted to their home.

Also included on the site is Foreign Office travel information.

WAM aims to have 50 interactive sites in Heathrow by the end of the year with a further 40 installed at Gatwick early next year. There are also plans for Stansted and airports in Scotland.
