Groupama will set up a number of broker advisory boards later this year in a bid to improve service standards.
As first reported by Insurance Times last year (News 17 August 2006), the insurer intends to expand its network of broker forums, following the successful implementation of its Healthcare Advisory Board.
It will create two additional boards to cover the general broking sector, with one meeting in the north of the UK and one in the south.
Distribution and customer service director Cathie Bruce said: "Groupama's advisory boards are made up of brokers from across the UK who help in shaping and forming ideas on how we deal with them, from both a service and product perspective."
Meanwhile, the insurer has boosted its frontline team by appointing three new key account managers, to increase the level of support offered to its select panel of brokers and intermediaries.
Paul Cavanagh, Paul Cousans and Simon Hurt have joined Groupama from rival insurer MMA. This follows a major review of Groupama's broker segmentation strategy last year.
Hurt's will focus on developing the company's broker networks, with Cousans covering the East Anglia, Lincolnshire and South Yorkshire regions. Cavanagh will concentrate on the M4 corridor.
Bruce said: "My primary objective is to ensure that we have sufficient geographical cover to give brokers better access to key account managers than they had in the past."
