Halifax General Insurance is the first household insurance provider to gain accreditation from the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) for training and competency.
Halifax gained the accreditation after devising a two-month training programme for new recruits and introducing the CII's Foundation Insurance Test as a benchmark qualification for the majority of its staff.
Managing director Howard Posner said the company was thrilled, adding: "Our main aim is to make sure our staff deal with customers professionally and fairly, and this is central to our training and company philosophy."
